August 2025: The Dog Days & Cave Crawls

August was a test of endurance, but man, did we pass. We tackled Dante’s Trail in San Marcos—over 7 miles of sweat—only to reward ourselves with a tube float and downtown drinks. We also got a little "wild" with the Rave Hike at Walnut Creek and explored the depths of Longhorn Cavern. Looking back at the photos, the sunset at the Walnut Creek Rave Hike stands out as one of the coolest visual highlights of the whole year.

August Retrospective:

  • 8/2: Johnson Creek Hike & Deep Eddy Pool/Bar Social.

  • 8/9: McKinney Falls State Park.

  • 8/13: Little Ginny's Longhorn Saloon (Two-Step Lessons).

  • 8/16: Dante's Trail to Paraiso (7.3 miles!) + San Marcos Tubing.

  • 8/20: Weekday Hike #6: Little Elm Trail with Gina McJunkins.

  • 8/21: Music Bingo at Punchbowl Social.

  • 8/23: Longhorn Cavern Nature Trail & Cave Tour.

  • 8/30: Rave Hike at Walnut Creek (Sunset/Night Hike).
